What This Service Can Include

Drupal core update planning and execution

Core updates planned around your release calendar, tested on staging before they touch the live site.

Contributed module and theme updates

All third-party modules and themes kept on current, maintained versions — not left to accumulate a backlog.

Security advisory response

Security advisories reviewed as published and patches applied within your agreed SLA — not held until the next scheduled update window.

Backup verification

Backups confirmed working through tested restores — not just scheduled. Most organisations only discover broken backups when they need them.

Uptime and error monitoring

Real-time alerts for downtime, PHP errors and failed deployments — issues caught before users report them.

Bug investigation and fixes

Root cause identified and resolved, not patched over — with documentation of what was found and what was changed.

Performance checks

Page load times, caching behaviour and error rates reviewed regularly — degradation caught early before it affects users.

Release and deployment support

Structured deployment process with rollback plan for every release — changes tested and reversible.

Monthly status report

Summary of updates applied, issues found and actions taken — a written record every month, not just a verbal update.

Improvement recommendations

Proactive observations on what to address before it becomes an incident — based on platform monitoring, not just reactive fixes.

FAQs Feature

Core and module updates should be reviewed at least monthly. Security advisories should be assessed as they are published — typically weekly. Waiting for quarterly or annual maintenance creates unnecessary risk.

Yes. We do a handover assessment of the current state of the platform — pending updates, known issues, infrastructure setup — before taking over. We document what we find and agree a plan to address any backlog.

Drupal 7 is past end of life and no longer receives security patches from the Drupal project. We can keep a D7 site running but recommend migrating to Drupal 11. We can plan and execute that migration as part of the engagement.

Admin access to the Drupal site, access to the hosting environment or deployment pipeline, and a point of contact for decisions. We handle the rest.
